Our Focus
SILAH’s focus is in 4 areas:
1. Building/Rebuilding Orphanages
Dedicating ourselves to the critical task of revitalizing orphanages worldwide, we prioritize urgent repairs to facilities that are in dire need, addressing issues ranging from dilapidated infrastructure to ensuring proper sanitation and access to clean water sources.
Providing Hope and Shelter to Those Devastated by Loss.
Amidst the turmoil of internal conflict, countless regions across the globe bear the scars of scorched buildings and shattered infrastructure, leaving families bereft of their homes and livelihoods. Among the most vulnerable victims of this upheaval are millions of orphaned children, forced to endure years of displacement, dwelling in makeshift tents within sprawling refugee camps.
In the face of such adversity, our mission resonates with urgency: to extend a lifeline of hope and stability to these forsaken souls. By focusing our efforts on serving orphaned children worldwide, we aim to offer more than just shelter; we aim to provide them with a beacon of light amidst darkness, a sanctuary where they can rebuild their shattered lives. Together, let us stand as guardians of their future, ensuring that no child is left to languish in the shadows of despair.
Investing in the Leaders of Tomorrow.
Investing in the Leaders of Tomorrow begins with nurturing environments where children can thrive. Infrastructure not only provides physical space but also cultivates opportunities for healing, learning, sharing, and growth. By prioritizing the development and upkeep of orphanages worldwide, we actively enrich the lives of vulnerable children, empowering them to become tomorrow's leaders.
"The relief of having clean water, the comfort of a warm blanket, or the peace found in eating a warm meal are priceless."
2. The Family Assistance Program
The Family Assistance Program is deeply committed to transforming the lives of orphans worldwide by providing comprehensive support and care under the guardianship of their closest living relatives. Through consistent monthly assistance, we prioritize meeting their fundamental needs, offering stability, and instilling hope in the face of mounting adversities stemming from global conflicts, disease outbreaks, and natural calamities. As the demand for assistance grows, our dedication to serving orphaned children remains resolute, compelling us to extend our outreach and influence to communities in dire need.
Keeping Families Together
The program is passionately committed to safeguarding the welfare of orphaned girls and boys globally, with an unwavering focus on serving their needs. Our paramount objective is to uphold family preservation, striving to maintain these children within their familial circles whenever possible, with preference given to the closest living relative. In instances where such familial ties are absent, we diligently seek to place them in the care of nearby orphanages, fostering a nurturing environment that instills a profound sense of belonging and stability in their lives. Our ultimate aspiration is to facilitate enduring connections, ensuring that every child finds a deserving and loving family to call their own.
“The one who looks after and works for a widow and for a poor person is like a warrior fighting in the way of God”
- (Bukhari)
3. Provide Shelter
We are dedicated to serving orphans worldwide, ensuring that those who reach the age of 18 and are removed from orphanages have a stable foundation as they transition into adulthood. Our mission extends beyond mere provision; we offer essential shelter, educational opportunities, and vocational training, empowering these young adults to pursue their dreams and become self-sufficient members of society. Furthermore, we recognize the critical need for healthcare among those aging out of the orphan care system, providing invaluable support to ensure their well-being and security.
4. Provision To Schools
We prioritize the transformation of rural schools in villages deprived of basic amenities like electricity and running water, ensuring they serve as havens for orphans and the most vulnerable children.
Our efforts extend globally, encompassing the supply of school essentials, the construction and equipping of educational facilities, financial support for operational expenses, and the provision of scholarships for post-secondary education.
Access to education is pivotal, often determining the trajectory of a child's life. Statistics reveal that children from impoverished backgrounds are five times more likely to be denied primary education compared to their wealthier counterparts.
Recognizing the critical role schools and resources play, we are dedicated to bridging this gap, empowering underserved communities worldwide.
SILAH's commitment to clean water is integral to our mission. By establishing water wells, employing purification technologies, and ensuring access to potable water, we safeguard the health and vitality of communities across the globe.
Clean water not only enhances longevity but also mitigates disease outbreaks, reduces child mortality rates, and elevates the overall well-being of individuals grappling with poverty.
Research indicates that approximately 40 percent of homeless youths cite poverty as the primary reason for their predicament, with family conflict and abuse also contributing significantly.
These findings underscore the urgent need for comprehensive policies addressing homelessness and its root causes. By dispelling stereotypes and confronting systemic challenges, we strive to create inclusive societies that uphold the rights and dignity of every individual, particularly vulnerable youth.
Through collaborative action and sustained advocacy, we endeavor to effect meaningful change, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
